Iiiiiiiiiiit’s back! This Sunday marks the second 6th Borough Market, which boasts tons of unique vendors. Think quality homemade and vintage goods, gift items, jewelry, stuff for kids, beauty and bath treats, and then of course kids’ activities and food.

The outdoor family-friendly market is located at 1 McWilliams Place (Hamilton Park) from 11am-4pm.

Whet your purchasing palette here.

Back to School!

After selling most of my stuff at the Riverview Fisk Flea Market two weeks ago, I felt justified to buy new things.

Even though it’s been a while since I’ve gone “back to school,” this time of year is a great time to revamp your life and begin a new chapter.

New season, new things. Right? I rarely buy for myself, but it is just high time that I do. My sneakers are failing me. My clothing is getting thready. My iPod and phone are both glitchy. My jewelry just bores me. And I really, really want a bike.

I began my new (frugal) shopping spree with a corduroy bomber jacket, two skirts and a new sketchbook/journal. The hair-bows are from the 6th Borough Market.

I then bought some things (T-shirts, candle, soaps, lip balm, wristlets and baby headband) at the All About Downtown Street Fair. Most of these are gifts.

The JC GAL bracelet is obvi not going to be gifted.

6th Borough Market: 9/15/13

This Sunday marks the opening of the 6th Borough Market, an outdoor family-friendly market located at 1 McWilliams Place (Hamilton Park) featuring quality homemade and vintage goods, gift items, jewelry, stuff for kids, beauty and bath treats, and then of course kids’ activities and food. Event is from 11am-4pm.

Lots of different vendors are participating. Whet your purchasing palette: Check out the event’s FB page here to see preview pics of all of the neat things you can buy for you and your family.

Personally, I’m going to try to find a bike to buy from We Build Bikes, because as I said before, I think it’s high time I join the cyclists of this great city.

If you can’t make it this weekend, the market will be held one Sunday each month for the rest of the year. Stay tuned for reminders of the future dates.
