NNO Celebration Tonight! 8/6/13

nno dayTonight is National Night Out, also know as America’s Night Against Crime, where we celebrate our police officers who work hard to make our communities safe places to live. Jersey City will be honoring its officers in four locations: Pershing Field, Hamilton Park, Audubon Park and Arlington Park.

Mayor Fulop will be stopping by each location to assist the Jersey City Police Department and local service organizations in providing tips to citizens about how we can all work together to make Jersey city a better place to live.

Get your info on from 6:30-9:30 pm, and have fun with games, giveaways, refreshments and other types of entertainment. Come celebrate & support those who serve our community.

Movies in the Park Tonight: 8/2/13

 rfme

Watch Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit under the stars and above (and, yes, overlooking) Manhattan tonight. Riverview-Fisk Park plays playground to this screening.

The movie starts at sundown…which by my guesstimate means it’s best to set up your blankets and chairs circa 7:30pm. That will give you enough time to grab your free popcorn and Lizzmonade lemonade (yes, it’s all free) and get comfortably cozy in time for the viewing.

The Washington Park Association (WPA), Riverview Neighborhood Association and Pershing Field Garden Friends organized this night (and the upcoming Jersey City movies in the park series) with Hudson County Parks and the Board of Chosen Freeholders.

More info is available here.

Enjoy,
