Jersey City hosts its 20th annual half-marathon today, and this year, the race boasts over 3000 runners.
Go cheer on your fellow citizens (starting at 8:30am) from Newport’s waterfront to Liberty State Park as they raise money for Jersey City Medical Center.
(seen on the street in JC; hoping to find something like it)
Friday, September 20th is PARK(ing) Day in Jersey City. The annual event (also global) is when citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces, a.k.a. temporary public spaces. Ours takes place at the Grove Street PATH Plaza from 5-9pm.
Bike repair demonstrations will be provided by Bike JC. There will also be a special 3rd Friday Ride, which will depart circa 6:50pm and last approximately an hour at a relaxed pace. Don’t forget your helmet!!! and, of course, your lights—because it will get dark.
The Performing Arts Workshop is offering a 10% tuition break for new students who register by September 7th. All classes take place at Grassroots Community Space (54 Coles Street).
