Jersey City Whiskey Fest

There was Jersey City Beer Fest, then Wine Fest and now…Whiskey Fest.

On Friday, March 24th, Whiskey lovers are encouraged to go to Harborside Atrium (34 Exchange Pl.; entrance on 210 Hudson St.) from 7-10pm and enjoy 100 different styles of the fine spirit while viewing the Manhattan Skyline.

Meet distillers, master blenders and other whiskey connoisseurs while tasting single malt and blended Scotch, Irish, bourbon, rye, Tennessee, Japanese, Canadian, and craft-distilled whiskies. High-end rum, cognac, and other spirits will also be available.

You’ll get a 5-oz. sample cup upon arrival. Tastings are unlimited, so I’m interjecting to say that this is far more dangerous than Beer or Wine Fest events. Please choose your tastings wisely and be careful!

There will be live music and food stands at the Atrium, plus vendors selling their cool, unique goods. Almost all are small, local businesses. Please always support local talent and shop it small in JC.

Tickets: $60. Buy here and use code jerseycitygal to get $15 off.

2017: New Year, Better You

goals2

Happy New Year Jersey City!!

Whatever your goals are, my advice is to pick one thing and achieve that. You cannot do 10 things really well at once. But YOU CAN do one thing really well if you focus on that for life-improvement. Once you’ve mastered the first goal, tackle something else. Keep it simple.

There is room for improvement throughout the year. Here are some Jersey City spots to find your “A-ha” inspiration during every quarter of 2017.

Jersey City Wine Fest!

Jersey City is hosting its first “Wine Fest.”

If you personally know the gal behind JCG, you know that (sparkling) wine is my beer, so I’m excited to announce an event for my peeps that came about as a natural progression from this fall’s very successful Brewfest.

January is a droning drag. Why not sip a little with friends and neigbzz on this side of the Hudson while admiring the Manhattan skyline? I thought so.

Taste over 150 styles of wine (choose wisely, because that’s an impossible feat in such a brief time) from all over the world. Speak with winery representatives. Enjoy sommelier seminars on various vino topics. Eat fabulous foods and enjoy live music.

Deets:

* January 28th (Saturday)

* The Harborside Atrium (34 Exchange Pl.) Entrance on Christopher Columbus Drive. Transport via the light rail or PATH to Exchange Place.

* Tix:

VIP: 5-10pm [Early access to the event and appetizers prepared by Chef Eric Levine]; $125
