“The Ghost of Uncle Joe” Masquerade Rock ‘n Roll Ball Benefit is an all-day concert in Harsimus Cove Cemetery (435 Newark Ave.) beginning at 2pm. $10 donation for entry, but as I always say about this non-church affiliated, non-government property, please give more if you can. My last concert day here was a blast.

In the cemetery’s words: “Every month we need to raise between $2000 to $3000 just to operate and purchase equipment & supplies. If 300 people would donate only $10 each, we would be all set for the month!” Please help our amazing restoration work by contributing today at http://www.jerseycitycemetery.org.

Last Summer Hurrah

pina

I’m not sure about you, but I don’t feel like I got enough of summer. It started out cold and rainy, then there was a crazy heat wave, and then I got so busy I didn’t have time to vacate or even stay-cate…until the last two weeks of August. Breath of air, if I do say so myself.

Now, I’m itching for more. Even though the calendar says it’s September and Labor Day has past, it’s still (sometimes) nice out. For those of you who think summer was a bit too short and want to get out one last hurrah, let’s enjoy the sunshine upon us and still-decent daylight hours.

What better way to stretch the summer than to sit on the beach at Surf City this weekend?
