Holy smokin’ hot Friday is here to bring  us yet another weekend in Jersey City. Here’s what’s going on in town if you’re ballsy enough to brave the heat:

Friday 7/19/13

Creative Grove Art Market Visit the Grove Street PATH plaza to check out local art, jewelry and other crafts. 3pm-9pm. Shop our local vendors.

Saturday 7/20/13

Van Vorst Farmer’s Market Stop by Van Vorst Park (Montgomery St. & Jersey Ave.) from 8:30am-3pm to gather all of your local produce. Free Waterfront Vinyasa Yoga at Owen Grundy Pier (Exchange Place, next to Hyatt). Get your stretch on from 9-10:15am, while taking in the view of Manhattan. Ed’s Exchange Merchant Market Shop the flea or sell your own goods. 10am-6pm at McGinley Square (672 Bergen Ave.) Tables are $10-20.

Historic Jersey City & Harsimus Cemetery (435 Newark Ave.) plays ground to A Midsummer Night’s Scream Music Festival. Live music from 1-10pm, featuring bands Mother, Pocketful, Pyramada, Stare Syndicate, Patchwork, Nick C and The OCD’s, Pilot Jones, The Money Shot and Cinema Cinema. Other attractions include live magic, arts & crafts, walking tours, food vendors, beer & wine and specialty pop-up shops. $10 suggested donation. Please give that or more to support the cemetery and the local community.

Sunday 7/21/13

Mindfulness Meditation. From 9-10:30am, join others in the community for a morning meditation session at Yoga Shunya (275 Grove St., 3rd fl.) Small donation suggested.

Farmer’s Market at Riverview Fisk Park. Buy farm-fresh produce and unique local goods from 9am-2pm. Plus, FREE YOGA TODAY!! (Ogden Ave. & Bowers St.) Details here. Additionally, Mayor Fulop will be here to award prizes to the winners of the peach-pie baking contest, and that means live music and other activities at noon.

Block Party Exhibition at Liberty Science Center 10am-4:30pm. Cake Boss’ Buttercream Cake Class Learn how to make cake at either 4-6pm (631 Grove St.).
