JC Small Business Luncheon 12/11

So many choices...

The Jersey City Small Business Forum is holding a special luncheon at 12pm this Friday, December 11th at Hudson County Community College (161 Newkirk Street at Sip Ave.).

The forum will address the needs of the Jersey City small business community and raise awareness of financial products and services, and technical assistance available to small businesses in Jersey City, while providing the tools necessary for businesses to remain stable and grow.

Registration and a buffet will begin at 11:30am at the Jersey City Culinary Conference Center in the building.

Mayor Fulop will deliver welcoming remarks, and the event will feature expert panelists from the City of Jersey City, Rising Tide Capital, Jackson Hill Main Street Management Corporation, Investors Bank, and the 504 Company, who will discuss the opportunities and challenges facing small business leaders and owners in Jersey City.

Topics to be covered: Access to capital and technical assistance for small businesses; business and investment planning; tax preparation; how to create your business portfolio and plan for growth, and micro lending opportunities.

This is a not-miss for Jersey City entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Knowledge is power. Knowledge is wealth.

6th Borough Market 6/14

6th borough market

The 6th Borough Market happens every second and last Sunday of the month from 11am-5pm behind City Hall (Marin & Montgomery).

The outdoor market is mix of high quality crafts and goods in a festive, family-friendly atmosphere. While local vendors display handmade and vintage collectibles, local chefs whip up plenty of good eats.

This Sunday, 6/14, Mayor Fulop will be in attendance for a ribbon cutting ceremony that “celebrates the market’s commitment to connecting local micro-entrepreneurs and the Jersey City community.

Superbowl XLVIII 2014 Jersey City!!!

Superbowl XLVIII is happening here, Jersey City!

No, seriously, both teams are staying in our great city, and as part of the Volunteer Host Committee, I will be in one of those hotels on gameday…as well as participating in other activities during this week before the event.

The Media will start arriving on Sunday, January 26th. Fellow followers, grip yourselves: The area’s already overcrowded population will increase MUCH. Our small businesses are going to thrive and our citizens are going to enjoy all of the excitement (or be bothered by the influx of hyped outsiders) in the cold.

I decided, rather than do  my usual personal research and write-up of everything, to make a montage of info already out there and put it here in one place. I’ll continue to update my site as I get more tips from all of you! Send to: jerseycitygia@gmail.com
